A new MacOS Intel App is available from our Beta Test page.

This App is part of a new generation of Apps that follow our attempts to track down and fix the remaining problems of the new software we're using since S5R2. It has the same codebase as the 4.33 Windows App, thus basically the same features.

For the "SIN/COS LUT" it uses a variant using ftol(), which showed to be fastest in the previous Beta App.

Please test and report.

MacOS Intel S5R2 App 4.36 available for Beta Test

I'm not sure about a speed improvement.
Mac Pro Intel Xeon 5150 (2.6GHz) went from 83,337 (4.19/4.26) to 84,103 (4.36).

2 of 7 completed have

2 of 7 completed have validated. One against Windows, one against Linux. Still slow; but if they all validate, that will be a good first step.

What does "slow" mean here? I thought that the 4.36 is a little faster than the official 4.19, and that the MacOS Intel App is the fastest of our Apps anyway (on the same hardware). Am I wrong?

4.36 is about 1000 seconds slower than 4.19/4.24 (see my previous post in the thread (#72707)).

Sorry, I missed that.

Surprisingly, the time-critical analysis code should be exactly the same as in the 4.26 App. Maybe the previously "not so time-critical" parts have gotten that much slower? I didn't notice a slowdown for the corresponding Windows App change, though. I'll investigate.

I just had one complete (not

I just had one complete (not validated yet). I usually do 411 credits in 88,000 to 89,000 CPU sec. The 4.36 app seems to have helped my mac mini core duo. It just did 411 credits in 87000 and change. That is the lowest I have seen my computer do on a 411 credit WU.

4.36 is good for my mac mini

4.36 is good for my mac mini core duo. It has shaved 1000 cpu sec off of 411 credit WUs. 2 results in so far : 1 validated ok, 1 is still in initial validation state.

I've got quite a few results

I've got quite a few results in now and all that have completed validation have been successful. Good work on 4.36 at least from my mac mini's perspective.
