I've selected project preferences set to  use CPU NO and use GPU YES.

Also, Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available is set to YES

I am not receiving any GPU work units on this machine.

Machine too old? Incorrect settings?

  • Mac Pro5,1
  • Mac OS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)
  • Dual Quad-Core Xeon 2.4 GHz
  • 16GB RAM
  • AMD Radeon HD 5770
  • Boinc 7.24.2

i think your GPU is far too

i think your GPU is far too old for either of the GPU projects that are running now.

That was one

That was one theory.

Would be nice (not essential) if confirmed.

Thanks for reply!

I'm nearly certain. right

I'm nearly certain. right now, Einstein only has two GPU searches for AMD/ATI; BRP7, and O3AS (Gravitational Wave)

right off the bat, your GPU simply does not have enough VRAM for the O3AS search. it requires at least 2GB (usually a little more, like 2.3-2.5GB in reality). you only have 1GB, and these tasks will not run on your card.

the BRP7 search requires less VRAM, maybe even less than 1GB, but it also requires FP64 support, your GPU does not have FP64 support, so these tasks will not run either.

Machine is just running

Machine is just running backups and I hate to let the GPU go to waste. I'll look for a project that might still be supported.

Again thank you.

Try MooWrapper, I had a 768mb vram gpu running them for awhile, i now run them on a gpu with only1gb of vram, neither has any problem. https://moowrap.net/
