I still can't believe LISA is not a higher priority that it is (http://sci.esa.int/science-e/www/area/index.cfm?fareaid=27). This project should not only be funded by now but should have already been launched. It is so much cheaper than the LHC and would produce just as knowledge. I could give a lot of background but anyone on this website probably has even more than I do. Gravity waves are the only way we will see past the last scattering to see the birth of the universe and may be one the few ways we can ever see the extra dimensions predicted by string theory as well as the predicted multiverses outside our deSitter space. Bottom line write your representatives and let them know LISA is so much worthwhile than more wasted defense spending, bailouts, etc.

I doubt Lisa will be realized anytime soon considering that our ability to measure gw is in doubt due to the potential graininess of space-time. Besides, we already have Ligo and Geo, neither of which has discovered anything, as far as I know.
