I am excited to be a part of this, actually. It's kind of a fun thing to do, when doing nothing. I wish work units didn't take 11 hours, but hey, it's probably just my computer as it is a few years old. Either way, I'm having fun with it.

Just thought I would share.

Thank you for sharing indeed and welcome to E@H Joshua! :-)

You have discovered what many feel here. It is a worthwhile and scientifically valuable project to contribute to, and as you say fun to boot. :-)

BTW please glance at our home page notices as : this weekend we have a landmark public event ( I am in Hanover myself ) plus the corresponding threads in the 'News' forum, especially this note from Bernd, as I believe the EVO coverage is ready to roll for the benefit of those elsewhere.

Thanks also to I think about the 60 or so who have registered to attend, it can be a big ask to travel here as I know well, and I look forward to meeting and greeting. I'm sure it will be a good day! :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Your rig is fine. The pulsar discoveries made by E@H to date have not been made by supercomputers ( but they could have! ) but by some of the very many 'ordinary' home/work jobs that are about. In any case I'll re-emphasise what I've said before : even a non-detection is a valuable data point as this type of research requires a good understanding of backgrounds in order to be surer of the foregrounds.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, Mike. I really appreciate it. The public event sounds like good fun! If you needed me to be a keynote speaker on account of my two completed WUs, I will gladly do so.

I look forward to being a part of, and interacting with, this community.

LOL! Yep, oddly enough we don't have anyone to speak in the category of "The Two WU Perspective". :-) ;-)

Now that's what I call a serious oversight .... so I'll personally take that up to the top floor boardroom .... ;-O

Cheers, Mike.

Stay with. The satisfaction never ends.
