Hi,

When I download Boinc manager 7.2.42 and double click it to install on Ubuntu 12.04 32bit, it does nothing. It's like it tries to open it with Gedit but it just stops. After a while I can only force the window shut.
The comp is a Pentium 4 with 2Gb Ram (and soon, some GPUs).
I'm a rookie in Linux, I have to add, so maybe it's me! :)
Thanks!

On Ubuntu you should install the BOINC Manager via the Package Manager provided by Ubuntu. Just search for BOINC and install it. No need to download from boinc.berkeley.edu.

I am using SuSE Linux. I tried Ubuntu but I find it has too many icons. I am mostly using command line on consoles. I have BOINC 7.2.42 on two SuSE releases. 13.2 and Leap 42.1. The BOINC client has been developed on Ubuntu and if you download it as a .sh file from boinc.berkeley.edu it should work. I downloaded mine from SuSE, the boinc.berkeley.edu version does not work on SuSE.

Thanks for the details. I

Thanks for the details. I chose Ubuntu for many AMD GPUs have drivers for Ubuntu. Otherwise I guess Suse or Mint would have worked fine also.
Anyway, solved, thanks.
