idled machine, now busy again: dispose of out of date tasks?

I have 5 machines known to Einstein. One has been idled from Einstein for a couple months (there has been Real Work to do) but is now able to return. Unfortunately, it's sitting on a backlog of 2-month-old tasks on which it's now pointlessly crunching -- report deadlines expired in September.

Is there a reasonably direct means of saying, "Chuck all that, go ask the servers for current [new] tasks," whether within or without BOINC support? That is, "rm -fr some/directory" is fine, if that's all it takes, but I don't want to do so without being sure it won't injure whatever task synchronicity exists between my hardware and the servers.

Maybe as a future enhancement, Einstein, or BOINC generally, could look at assigned tasks, note their report deadlines, and throw away those that are already overdue.

tasks that have already

tasks that have already started will continue running even after deadline, but since it's been so long you will not get credit when they are returned.

might as well just abort all tasks and let it download new ones. you could do this all in one swoop by clicking "reset project" in BOINC.

Yes, the simplest method is just to reset the project from within the Manager's menus.

I hadn't noticed that control

I hadn't noticed that control before. Got it. Thanx.
