I'm not sure if this is an E@H problem or a BS one.  My testing has shown that I can embed my BS image in a profile on other sites than E@H, and that E@H's forum software will let me embed png images hosted elsewhere.  But when I try to use my stats image from BS I get a missing image placeholder in Chrome/Edge and nothing at all in Firefox.  I believe this has been broken since the site upgrade (I know my sig has been broken for a while); but until today I never got around to looking into it.

My BS signature image URL:

http://boincstats.com/signature/-1/user/926/sig.png

An attempt to embed the image using the WYSWG editor:

sig.png

And an attempt to do the same via manual img tags:

And lastly my broken signature (for users in browsers that show the placeholder image):

I can see all three image

I can see all three image instances in Firefox and Chromium. What may be happening is that your browser does not show you the image because it uses a non-SSL connection whereas the E@H site uses SSL (HTTPS). This is considered mixed content and there is a browser setting that disallows that.

Hmmmm, something else seems

Hmmmm, something else seems to be going on at my end; these are still appearing equally broken for me in Firefox and Vivaldi (chromium based), while Edge and Chrome itself are now showing both sets of images...

A second reason to suspect whatever is going on for me not being mixed content related is that I have no problem viewing Zalster's http image signature in this thread.

Https inserted via WSYWG:

When I look at your latest

When I look at your latest post I see three images: Two you have posted in the message itself and a third which is your signature. I am viewing the post in Chromium Linux.

This kind of problem can be very difficult to diagnose because it's hard to track down the exact combination which results in the broken images. In Chrome/Chromium/Firefox, try looking at the developer's console. When I do so in Chromium I get a Mixed Content warning saying it is loading an http image over an SSL https connection, specifically your signature URL. It may be some browsers are set to not load these insecure images, while other browsers do so. There may be a setting somewhere that configures this for you as well.

I see 3 as well in both posts

I see 3 as well in both posts in Chrome. I haven't changed any mixed type settings that I know of.

I eventually found out what

I eventually found out what was going on, boincstats had been caught acting badly and had been blocked by my Privacy Badger plugin for disregarding my browsers do not track flags like the finest of scumbag advertisers and spyware as a service companies.
