databes propbems i cant see the sever stats.
bruce fill me in. how much more
I think that someone from the EAH team should inform us about all the problems of the project. I get the message Project is down so often, that i wonder when the project is on.
Gravity increases significantly in Autumn, because apples fall in large numbers during that time!
I don't think the problem is money. Einstein was rock solid for months until some of the hard drives began to fail in the fileserver's RAID array. They eventually had to pull their regular machine and put in a "temporary replacement."
This temporary replacement is currently being hammered with about 6 times as many wu's as the old one, since only short wu's are left in the current run. At the same time, those wu's are requiring a lot of datapacks (large 16 meg files of data to work with) to be sent out.
So, right now, they're trying to get a new permanent fileserver solution set up. They're trying to get the next run of data (S5R2, it appears) ready to go, AND they're trying to keep their temporary replacement going under a heavy load.
I'd love some communication as well, but as long as the bubblegum holds a few more days... hopefully things will be better by the end of this week. For one thing, all of these short wu's from S5R1 will probably be out and gone today or tomorrow- and then we'll be into S5R2.
In addition to what scriptfox has said, you're also heavily underestimating the cost of the file server that's having problems. It's a 24x400gb raid unit. A 15x300gb server from dell will run $28k and $36k depending on drive speed (10 or 15k rpm) and server accessories.
how manny days left for s5 and how manny wu's left for s5
