That was quite a long outage !
I was bored and occupied myself during the outage
by causing trouble over on the Milky Way fora.
An interesting crowd over there.
I hope everyone is well.
Best Regards, Bill

Hello__ Everyone still alive ?
)
Welcome back!
I just got up and had to get right on and see if I could send in my 60+ finished Einsteins....and was surprised and they all went in and I got new ones (except a quad I have running at another place so I'll have to email that one)
I actually ran out of work and since we have no LHC's I did a few Seti's and a few Seti beta's.
And even decided to sign in on the Boinc site after all these years.....so I guess the server crash got me over there
I'm still here, but I lost my

I'm still here, but I lost my left sock.

What a doozy! I think I blacked out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds .... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

That's what we get for messing with mother nature!...But it's all good now.

Oddly enough I always have too many right socks when I finish my wash too.

That's Quantum. Heisenberg actually started it all by worrying about his washing.
Cheers, Mike.

Aah yes, always forget those pesky Quantums mucking things up.
I expect my washing got muddled up in the machine, forming a trousers of time event.

Terry Pratchett is such a hoot, isn't he? ;-)
Naturally The Relativities are involved too, during the spin cycle. Shrinkage and what-not ..... Einstein was not kidding when he talked of the fabric of spacetime.
Cheers, Mike.

This is such an entertaining thread ;)
RE: RE: Naturally The

It's actually quite serious! :-)
A sock is neither left nor right until you measure it. Up until then it is either/neither. The act of putting it on determines it's side. Plus you get entanglement, with the act of washing randomising the sock function. Plus once a sock is found to be a left one, then the other in the pair must be a right one! Vice versa. If you mark or label the socks, the effect is lost.
And this happens even if the socks are in different rooms.
Spooky ......
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) I've always thought that the fundamental/solid-state/particle physics applications of quantum mechanics have been over emphasised.
