Thanks for that, Mike. I'm from the US, and more a history buff than most, and I don't think I'd ever seen the full, actual version. Somehow "full speed ahead" seems a pale, attenuated corruption of the real thing.

[ I believe Farragut was lashed to the mast high up when he said that. ]

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

SHUFFLE BOARD After

SHUFFLE BOARD

After sobering up I decided to better distribute my cards. Both my primary GPU Machines have itty bitty i3 CPUs and seem only capable of fully driving 60,000 65,000 GPU credits per day. Four cards worked, but when it finally dawned on me to check GPU utilization rates they were way down. Might eventually upgrade the CPU, but in the mean time I moved some cars around.

So now I have three GTX 650s in the four slot machine, and one GTX 660 and one GTX 650 in the two card machine. Same number and type of cards I have been running in these machines until I got all experimental. So I will be interested how total production and power draw might change. RACs will not stabilize for awhile. The previous RACs topped out at 66,000 for [GTX 660 plus 2xGTX 650 card machine] and about 33,000 for the machine with two GTX 650s for nearly 100,000 total per day. Both of them calculated to about 39 - 41 watts per 10k stones per day.

So plenty of time to rack the Rum Rations to ensure they have not turned to vinegar. Or is that some sort other ethenol product? Just lash me to the mast Mr. Christian.....

FIFTY PROOF The reshuffled

FIFTY PROOF

The reshuffled GTX 650 x 3 machine must at least be fifty proof since it seems on fire! All six theads are producing tasks in a bit less then 27,000 seconds @ a tad less then 210 watts at the plug. Rounding down thats 63,000 stones per day at 33.3 watts per 10,000 stones, if my calculatons are good. I won't claim victory unless the long term RAC confirms it in a few weeks. However, my goal in building this machine, if memory serves was 35 - 45 watts per 10k.

The two card machine, on the other hand, is so far a dissapointment. I don't even have a rough estmate yet, but it seem to be way under peforming. It has a GTX 650 and GTX 660 but is showing less then 40,000 stones per day. I had some installation problems with errors but the tasks seem ok now. I'll give it a few more days.

Do you undervolt your cards?

Do you undervolt your cards? My card takes a 50mV undervolt at stock clocks and generates no errors or game artifacts, I haven't tried to push it lower than that yet. Its saves me about 15-20w from the wall.
