..............etc, etc

Same as you ashj

I'm continually getting failed downloads, although I am still currently running another Einstein Wu with no problems.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a fix?

It's probably got to do with

It's probably got to do with the database problems that Einstein had yesterday and part of today (my time anyway). All the "file not found" messages come from the server, so there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Thanks for that Jord.

I'll switch to another project for a day, or two, until it gets sorted out.

I'm in the same situ as u

I'm in the same situ as u guys.

I've given this project heaps of computer time,

But when it comes to an update, from the homepage we get nowt.

If thats, what I devote 2 very powerful computers to,then i'll detach both .

Ignorance really hacks us off.

Perhaps you'd like to fill us in with what actions you have tried?

One of your machines seems to be functioning normally and the other seems to be having trouble downloading from the server. It was functioning normally up to 29 Jan when it returned a result successfully but since that time you've had a constant stream of download errors.

This could be due to things like

  • * Network problems on your machine
    * Problems on the server
    * Faulty data that is being downloaded
    * Bugs in BOINC itself

To narrow down the cause of the problems, there are several things to try like

  • * Stopping and restarting BOINC
    * Rebooting your machine
    * Paying particular attention to messages in BOINC Manager and reporting anything unusual
    * Testing your network connection
    * Resetting the project from within BOINC Manager. This is often a last resort option but in your case since you have no work in your cache it would be quite appropriate for you.

You may well have tried these sorts of things but unless you tell us what you've already tried then .....

Also, perhaps you'd like to explain how a front page update is going to solve a problem that most others aren't having? It's only happening on one of your machines so it's hardly project wide.

Cheers,
Gary.

All my boxes are now

All my boxes are now accepting downloads.

Two of the three boxes I have just continued crunching but the third had ran out of work and was rejected on several occassions. (See the first post in this thread.)

I tried re-boots several times with no success, but then just requested more work today and happily it arrived to all boxes.

Hope that helps anyone with this problem.

With Regards to all crunchers.
