A short update on the past searches for Gamma-Ray Pulsars on Einstein@Home:
FGRP1 discovered four previously unknown Gamma-rays pulsars, published in a paper mentioned here.
FGRP2 and FGRP3 yielded no new discoveries. However we did learn a lot from these two searches, which resulted in a couple of improvements that have been incorporated in FGRP4, making a BIG leap in sensitivity. Thus our expectations for new discoveries in FGRP4 are GREATLY increased.
The lessons learned from FGRP2&3 are described in the paper "Optimized Blind Gamma-ray Pulsar Searches at Fixed Computing Budget".

FERMI Gamma-Ray searches (FGRP2/3) update
)
Hallo BM and collegs!
Thankyou very much for this information.
So we hope for FGRP4, wich will presumably finish midd of Jan. next year.
Kind regards and happy crunching
Martin
FGRP4 will last much longer.
)
FGRP4 will last much longer. The current progress refers to ~50 data sets, which is only a quarter of the new FERMI data. We still hope to get the rest of the data still this year.
Apart from that we are still working on getting searches for Gravitational Waves set up that will draw computing power from FGRP4. The Launch of the S6Bucket Follow-Up search was planned for this week; it has been delayed by 1-2 weeks, but will happen eventually and last for abuout 4 months.
