When I click any of the buttons "Your results", "Your accout", "Report problems", it opens TWO Internet Explorer Windows (one of then empty). I use now BOINC Manager Ver. 5.8.8 for Wondows...

It is most likely because you are using a IE Add-on, such as Yahoo! toolbar, with IE Tabs. You can load the newest version of IE to fix the problem. If this is not the issue, I am not sure. But, I know when I used to open outside (of IE) links, the window would open with 2 tabs, one being empty.

I've replicated this with IE6 (but not IE7).
I reported it to the developers earlier today as someone posted about it on the BOINC message boards.

I use no add-on's. If there is at least one open IE window on the screen, the "extra" windows does not appears. It appears only when then opening IE window is the first one!

Thanks for this additional piece of data. I had not thought of seeing if the same thing would happen if there was already an IE window open.
I'll send it along to the developers in the morning (errrr... later this morning when I get up).

I have downloaded and installed BOINC Manager v.5.8.11. The problem with "extra window" is still here.
The version v.5.8.15 still
