I just noticed the following error messages this morning on one of my machines. When a job completes it goes into transfer and I show it to be 100+% uloaded. Afterwards, I check the work tab and the job is gone and replaced by a message that reads ready to report. I highlight the Einstein project under the project tab and when scheduling changes to communicating, that disappears as well. I'm also currently running my last Einstein job and typically on my other machines, they will automatically download more. This one has not.

Sorry about all the treads but I starting working on these projects with SETI several years ago and want very much to get this Einstien project to work.

Hello

Would you have a firewall running there ? You need to enable BOINC client for internet access.
Another thing to remember is under the "Comands" drop down menu in BOINC are 3 settings for your network, as well as controlling BOINC - ensure that network is either always available, or set it to run according to your preferences. Of course if you are on dial-up, then set to network activity suspended.

Hope that helps - Gray

Zone alarm was set to allow internet access, but not network. But in commands it was set to based upon preferences, which I have no Idea what they are set to. I'll have to check. I've got these red messages all over the place on the 4 machines I've got set up. My credits seem to be increasing, is it possible that I have not received any credits for the 50 or 60 jobs I've done for the Einstien and Rosetta projects?

Ford, Your messages below

Ford,

Your messages below indicate a possible connection problem (as Gray Handcock indicated in his response) - BUT, your problem description does not match the messages. Actually, your description does not indicate a problem at all. It just describes the way BOINC is supposed to work. Please read Message boards : Cruncher's Corner : Updates - it contains an explanation of the BOINC reporting process.

Stick

EDIT: Also, the fact that your computer is not downloading work from Einstein is not indicative of a problem - just indicative of BOINC adjusting debt.

RE: Ford, Your messages

Message 19380 in response to message 19379

Stick

Thanks Stick, when I saw those red messages saying in effect a connected was not made, I couldn't justify that with the fact my totals were increasing. I like the way the BOINC software functions (darn near idiot proof) and am glad to hear I may not have the huge problem I at first thought. Thanks again for your reply, it cleared up a couple of issues that makes the project a bit easier to understand.

EDIT: Also, the fact that your computer is not downloading work from Einstein is not indicative of a problem - just indicative of BOINC adjusting debt.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.....Douglas Adams

You need to go to view

You need to go to view computers and merge all your duplicate hosts and then stop detaching so much cause it does nothing to resolve your problem...
