Hi!

Having many people of the gravitational wave research community in Potsdam that day we are planning a public event around Einstein@Home.

Have a look at http://gwdaw11.aei.mpg.de/eah.php, and please let us know when you intend to come - we currently have not much of an idea how many people we could expect.

Einstein@Home public event at AEI Dec 18

The page for the event has been updated with a program for the evening.

Unfortunately our mailserver is under heavy load (probably from spam attacks), so the notification eMails may take a while and I thought I spread the word this way.

Too late here for comments, just a few pictures. Google or Babelfish will translate it from German to your preferred language. http://www.flickr.com/photos/20418602@N00/sets/72157594427277300/detail/

The pick: Prezzie for

Message 50361 in response to message 50360

The pick:

Prezzie for Bruce!! Who's a happy lad, then? :-)

[The game is now officially mandatory for all E@H participants! Seriously.... ]

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) See here for details.

( edit ) You may note he was given the basic version, not the advanced one. Perhaps he has to wait for LIGO II? :-) ( Sorry, I couldn't resist it Bruce!! )

I updated the (english)

I updated the (english) program page with links to the audio and slides of the talks.

If so. would convert the ppt I got from the speakers to PDF, I could put them on the page, too.

We had a short dropout of the microphone during Brian O'Reilly's talk and I shortened the gap a bit, but from the slides and context it should be clear that "we were not doing that good" actually referrs to H2 in S4, not to "LIGO in S5".

Bernard Schutz' slides look a bit poor without the movies, I'll try to get them seperately.

Sorry it took me so long, but I'm very busy with other stuff these days.

Actually it was thought as a gift for his children, their age is more 'basic' than 'advanced' :-)

just wanted to say thank you to Brunce Allen, Brian O'Reilly, Bernard Schutz, Bernd Machenschalk and everyone else who made that event possible !

It was very exciting to see and talk to those "behind the scenes".
Was a great evening an i hope something similar to that event happens soon.

Thank You All!
