Welcome to Einstein!  That's a couple of nice looking machines you have added :-).

Take a look at this thread.  It's currently two below yours in the list of threads.  It happened yesterday and it may well be the same thing causing it.  Hopefully there may be the same outcome - a temporary glitch that will resolve itself over time.

The system is probably under extra pressure at the moment with a bunch of new arrivals from Seti.

Cheers,
Gary.

Hi Nicolas, welcome to

Hi Nicolas, welcome to Einstein@Home and thanks for joining.  I'm sorry you are having a difficult introduction!

Since the download server just supplies the large data files needed for the analysis and the same analysis code is used irrespective of GPU type, it's rather unlikely to be anything to do with GPU type.  I guess it could be something to do with the switch to summer time but I think there would be a lot more reports if that were so.  My guess is still that it's probably something to do with one of the download servers being overloaded.

I notice that one of your hosts has had 383 download errors.  When first starting, it's always beneficial to set your preferences for a very small work cache size (eg 0.1 days) so that if something does goes wrong, you get to know about it before a large number of tasks fail.  If the problem seems to continue and a solution isn't obvious to you, just suspend work fetch and report it here.  If others are having the same problem, it's helpful if you just add your report to whatever is the main/original thread about the problem.

This problem seems to be continuing and the Staff are probably aware of it and working on a solution.  Since there are now three reports, I've just sent a PM to one of the staff to make sure they are aware of the situation.

Cheers,
Gary.

Thank you Gary! Yes the

Thank you Gary!
Yes the learning curve is steppier than Folding@Home (from which I come from) and I may have set things incorrectly in the settings... Despite a lot of threads and help section, it is still easy to make mistakes like hitting the update button twice in a row and getting deferred for 10 hours...
Anyway I'll give boinc some more time to adapt to my PCs and see how it goes before asking for help again.
