The project will be taken offline for important database maintenance late on Tuesday Jan 25 (UTC). Estimated downtime is 24h, we'll try to keep it shorter if possible.

Bernd, your post says Tuesday Jan 25, but the front page and headline say Jan 26 (Wednesday). Any chance of resolving the quantum superposition? ;-)

Well, the project will go

Well, the project will go down late Tuesday UTC. For most of us the downtime will be largely Wednesday, for Mike, Garry and other Aussies it will be completely Wednesday. So I found Wednesday more appropriate. Do you disagree?

The answer is probably

The answer is probably this:
It will be switched off late Tuesday, sometime in the evening.
It will be down for ~24h.
So it will be down mainly on Wednesday.

It could have been worded a bit more precise, at least the time of the switching off, but for me it sounds reasonable. But I'm as well just a fellow cruncher, with no more inside knowledge as you ;)

Edit says:
Bernd beat me with his answer ;)

We'll post another news item

We'll post another news item with the exact times when a more detailed schedule has been decided on. For now I just wanted to give an early warning.
