Hi,
I recently upgraded from Win7 to 8.1. As soon as Boinc kicked in, it caused the system to freeze up. By suspending all other projects, I have isolated it to einstein. On the last attempt to examine this, when the system was restarted, the Boinc manager (or something else) had deleted the whole einstein project from this computer.
Now I am afraid to add this project back to this computer until this is resolved.
All drivers, bios before and after the upgrade are current.
Here is my system:
Computer: Toshiba laptop Satellite P70-A, win 8.1
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Intel HD graphics 4600
Nvidia GeForce GT745M
Any help would be appreciated.

E@H causes system freeze/crash after upgrade to win 8.1
)
There were reports that win8.1 had troubles with the intel graphic driver.
I did not follow the discussion since I use win7, but if you try the search function of the forum you may find hints to this issue.
I can confirm/concur that

I can confirm/concur that windows 8.1 on an i7-4700m HP Envy Laptopwill freeze (instantaneous freeze) running BRP on Intel GPU, the system using the microsoft installation drivers. Factory installed drivers.
Since I was just trying it out and really wanted to use it for T4T I didn't pursue any fixes.

Yeah I too read somewhere that the factory drivers weren't the right ones to crunch with.
Try the current drivers from

Try the current drivers from Intel, they work fine on regular desktops. Not sure if this breaks Optimus, though. Or... do you even have it working now if it's the standard Win driver?
