I opted for a GTX660 (see

I opted for a GTX660 (see post #1 in this thread) and now it is installed on a x79 mainboard with i7-3820 CPU. Result: 3 BRP4cuda32nv301 tasks simultaneously take approx. 3100 s < 52 min. This is a factor 1.85 increase of performance compared to my old GTS450 and power consumption is only slightly higher than before.

According to the information herein the HD7870 could be a better choice. NVIDIA seems to no longer the best choice for our purpose.

wonder if any one else uses a one 12 volt rail 60 amp vs muliple 12 volt rail at diffent amps when running more than one gpu?
