LOL...
It just dawned on me (give self slap on head) we've effectively hijacked Gary's petition thread! :-O
Therefore I started this thread for the running commentary about it.
Gary, I'll leave it up you. If you feel it's not necessary, feel free to hide it, reorganize, edit, etc.

Discussion Regarding Deadline Relief on S5R2 and Beyond
)
No problem at all :).
When I first started the thread, I made three incorrect assumptions:-
* I assumed that there might be *lots* of people wanting to register a "me too" type post.
* I assumed that project staff might sit back and watch what happened for a while.
Because of those assumptions, I framed things the way I did so that the number of posts could be used like a voting register. The key thing that changed was that Bernd entered early and expressed an interest at looking at variable deadlines as a serious option. He also left open other options so that I don't think we need a count of votes any more as the problem seems to be well and truly under review.
Discussion of the options seems like a worthwhile use of that thread so please feel free to do so here or there. Thanks for your contributions.
Cheers,
Gary.

Okie Dokie,
Then in the interest of not needing to have two threads for the same purpose, I ask that you lock this one.
Ofiicially and under BOINC Fora Protocol, as originator, I declare this thread CLOSED! ;-)
Regarding Bullet 1, I guess that might indicate we have a 'kinder, more genteel clientel here at EAH. :-)

Unfortunately, I don't have that option (old version of software I guess).
To all reading here, please respect the wishes of the OP and continue in the sticky thread.
I have strongly held that view for a long time :). However, when something really bothers you it's pretty easy to lose sight of the boundary between robust debate and a flame war :). I didn't want anyone to come back and say they weren't warned :).
***CLOSED***
Cheers,
Gary.
