Given that (which is very reasonable), shouldn't the users "Total" field still carry the same information? Unless there is an error in the DB, it "should" be, same field, differant place. Yes?

The reason why the numbers in

The reason why the numbers in the RAC and total credit columns differ depending upon which column is used for sorting is very simple. The two pages, with the different sort orders, are SEPARATE pages, which are not computed at the same instant. They are typically precomputed a few seconds or minutes apart, and then cached on our server. So for volunteers with large numbers of computers, or teams with large numbers of members, the RAC and total credit numbers change fast enough that the difference is noticable even after a few seconds or minutes.

Must be something going on or a lack thereof. For the first time since I signed up over a month ago, all of my machines are reporting exactly the same number 55653.72. I haven't seen an update since this AM. Oh well, at least it appears the data was uploaded.

Oh. Thank you Ford. I may not have made it clear. I did all my testing on the one PC.

I understand now! It's not the DB. It's in the pre-prepared HTML (or similar), cached and then called up by a confused me. Still pressing F5 8-).
My brain doesn't hurt so much now!

Sorry to ask and appear

Sorry to ask and appear stupid guys....but would the above explain why when looking at my PC (in my accounts page on Einstein) it got granted credit for 3 results today (1 still pending) on Boincstats (& Mundayweb) it only shows granted the 38.16 cobblestones for one result?

Your PC, and account page are

Your PC, and account page are updated in realtime as credit is granted. The data the stats pages use is a table computed once or twice/day and is always behind your upto the minute values as a result.

I've seen results reflected

I've seen results reflected on my einstien page within a minute of hitting the update button in boinc. It might not be RT to the OS writing folks, but it's close enough for me.

Andy,
The question isn't stupid, it's reasonable to want to learn.
The stats pages you asked about are run by other people on different computers and have no direct connection to the computers that the project is run on. The stats pages for mundayweb are updated once a day. Boincstats is probably similar.
Einstein, like most of the BOINC projects, creates special files for the stats pages to read and update their own pages.
These special files (xml files) are not created by the projects in real time. They may be updated every few minutes to, say, once a day, depending on project resources.
This would explain why there is a long period between returning a result and it appearing in stats pages.
One last bit, some credit will be at the tail end of each step, so it could take that portion of credit two to three days to get through. Provided al the computers and connections stay in place.

If you go to any of the BOINCstats pages, on the left-hand sidebar there's a section that indicates exactly when each area of their database was last updated; they seem to do several partial or incremental updates from the daily stats-dump. On a couple of occasions I've seen discrepancies between tables and graphs in the same display, as the numbers get pulled from various parts of the database. As long as the figures are no more than a day or two old, I'm happy. Comparing the differences between sources of stat reports to my pending credit puts it in perspective.
