Accounts aren't deleted (yes

Accounts aren't deleted (yes they can be), but the reasoning for not deleting is keeping the science information. You can garbage your account (change e-mail, username, etc. to nonsense) but the account will remain to keep the statistics.

Go to:

Go to: https://einsteinathome.org/account/info/edit or "Account -> Preferences -> Credentials"
Down to the right there's a "Delete Account" link, click that and confirm then your account should be deleted.

You need to do that for

You need to do that for yourself.

Please go to your account page and click on the 'credentials' item in the sub-menu.  On the next page down in the bottom right-hand corner there is a link that is for deleting your account.  I have no experience with that option but I imagine you might have to confirm the action by giving your password.

Just to correct a slight misconception.  The project doesn't 'use' your computer, you do.  The project cannot send work to you unless you ask for it.  You don't have to delete your account just to stop your BOINC client from asking for more work.  If you tell BOINC not to ask for more work or if you uninstall BOINC, you will not receive any further work.  If you wish to delete your account as well, you can easily do that after you have removed BOINC.

Cheers,
Gary.

That's what happens to Swedes who stay up past their bed-time ;-) :-).

I hope you also notice that I've developed the ability to time travel :-).  - Or at least make it appear that my post was earlier than yours, even though position-wise, it was later than yours :-).  I had wondered (but never got around to checking) if the original posting time got modified when an edit was made.  Now I know for sure since I did notice the original time you posted (which was just before mine) although a casual observer might now think that you posted after me.  The original time of posting should be preserved and an extra field added for the time of last edit, perhaps.

This sort of thing has happened to me a few times, so that I have developed the habit (on most occasions) of always using the 'quote' link in a new tab for the reply and then, just before posting, refresh the original tab to see if anything else has arrived in the interim.  As Murphy's Law says, any time you don't do it will be the precise time you really should have.  I had skipped normal procedure for a nice quick response.  In any case, I did want to leave a comment about the "project is using my computer without my knowledge or permission" accusation, so it ended up being not quite so quick as originally intended :-).

Cheers,
Gary.
