Having a cluster in the list of course takes a way the motivation for those groups of participants not only doing it for the cause of science but also because it is a bit of a sport and therefore fun.

Some of the third-party stats sites allow one to compare one's credit to accounts running a certain number of hosts, accounts with hosts attached to a certain number of projects, and so on. And it's not as if we're playing a zero-sum game here!

I tend to agree with the first poster, what ever that was ;-). And I think as penance Bruce should crunch for someone else for a fortnight!

Now, so that it will be fare, it can't be crunched for me but, because he has done such a wonderful job here, I think it should be for Mike Hewson! 8-D

Now, let's see Mike. That's a RAC 165,051.51 * 14 days, which should be about 2,310,721.14 for our team ;-) What do you thi.... Oh, crap! Am I still on the board? Do you think anyone will have noticed? Do you think anyone will notice that we're in the same team????

I'll, um, just creep out of here backwards.........

No, no, no ..... sterling ideas, Mike my man! In the name of pure science I'd be happy to, err .... ( quick mental double-take ) ,,,,,, ( nervous keyboarding now ) ( come on, they're waiting ) ..... err, be prepared to take on such a burden - it's for the science you know - really I don't care about the credit - it's only a marker of progress really - you know I don't compete - honestly, intellectual honesty - ah yes - the waves, the waves, it's all about the waves - all else is trivial by comparison - yes, for the team - team? - our team - my team now - there is an 'I' in team! - of course, there always was one, got to look harder next time - a Beouwolf cluster, ehh? - ( drool ) - my precious - ahh there's Einstein's socks, thought I'd lost those - and there's Poincare's rabbit talking to Heisenberg's ... hmmm, not quite sure what that is, a wombat perhaps - what's that bloody Lorentz up to with his ruler again - hey, put that down - now Enrico, stop showing off to Oppy - you two, yes you Michelson and Morley: enough of the measuring, it's always the right angles with you guys - Fitzgerald! Slow down son, I can't Doppler a word your saying - Benoir: you do look ill today, and somewhat familiar too - forces for courses that's what I always say - wrecked 'um - never get tired of that one, eh? - beep, beep ... 80C .... alarm ...... system fan zero ........ beetroot, err ..... REBOOT.

Thank heavens for my 150A circuit breaker!

Now, you were saying something Mike? :-)

Hear hear, do away with the credit! Let's see who keeps on crunching here when there is no cobblers to be divided. 8-)

Well done, it's good to see someone can spell BeyWutch correctly!
The 'get out of jail free card' was one chance at an undeletable post - regardless of content. I'm pleased to see you've already used it wisely.... :-)
Actually, I was expecting someone to say 'my Schwanzvergleich ruler is bigger than yours', or 'Schwanzvergleich rules OK!' or somesuch :-)
Cheers, Mike.

A funny thing about Fuchsschwanz is that not only is it the tail of a fox, it is also the german word for a kind of saw, I think it's called crosscut saw in english. In swedish, however, that tool is called fogsvans, which is very strange, since a "fog" has nothing at all to do with foxes...

B. E. U. W. O. L. F. I've worked with Unix cluster before :-D

Schwanzvergleich. Let me see schwanz vergleich, OK at this point I went to babel. Still got tail comparison. I don't know what a "tail-comparison ruler" is.

Crap! I think Beowulf might be correct, so I check a cluster here in OZ, and it was spelt "Beowolf".

This, therefore, takes me back to Mike's First Rule of IT, "Illitarecie is a prewreckwisit for any level of IT". I'd beet cache on it. ;)

It's named after some nasty ancient mythical creature (maybe Celtic! Damn, I should know if that's right).

Nup, not Celtic. I found it: "Beowulf is both the title and the main character of an ancient heroic epic, the oldest known epic narrative composed in English *. Beowulf is the powerful warrior who comes to the aid of the Danish king Hrothgar, whose hall is raided each night by the hideous man-eating monster Grendel." If memory serves, English at that time was an obscure Germanic language from a small tribe that "disappeared" from the mainland not long after the language was used for intertribal communications across a predominantly Celtic Briton. Ref. Melvin Bragg, BBC Smart Arse.
