hallo,
ich habe nach einer De- und anschließenden Neuinstallation festgestellt, dass das BOINC-Programm offenbar irgendwelche Dateien bei der Deinstallation nicht löscht, denn es werden anschließend bei der Neuinstallation sofort die alten Daten wieder erkannt (z.B. alter Installationspfad, Projekte, Benutzer und EMail-Adresse).
Das ist aber äußerst mangelhaft !!
Ich möchte erwarten können, dass eine Deinstallation alle Programmdaten vollständig löscht !!
Bitte dringend ändern !!

Yes, when uninstalling BOINC, it won't remove things as the installation paths and the data directory. It will remove the Program directory, not the data directory, as the user may just want to uninstall before doing a new install of a newer BOINC. When doing an upgrade installation of a newer BOINC, this will also uninstall the previous BOINC. If then every time the data directory is deleted, that can be quite costly in having to download all that data again.
And that's where the user comes in, with a bit of responsibility.
When you click through the BOINC installer, keep an eye out for the 3rd screen in the installer:
It'll show the installation paths. If you do not want BOINC to use those, you can click Advanced:
And then change the paths.
Only when you really truly want to remove all of BOINC, should there be an option to destroy all. That's something that's on the ever-growing to-do list of the developers, but may need a new installer. The presently used Windows Installer has its limits, while the open source installer the developers have been eying for a couple of years isn't mature enough yet to also do this.
