Sorry Norman,

I'm not understand you. What's the matter for you? Credit or help to science?

How about both?

Try the Pizza@Home project, good crunching.

I think everyone recruit itself to help the science, but I'm waiting for the Akos Optimized Client for S5 Run... Then we'll be able to crunch faster to help the S5 finish faster right?

13 + hrs for S5 unit , I am

13 + hrs for S5 unit , I am staying with the Trux in 5.2.13, I believe it makes a difference in credits...I tried the 5.4.9 and noticed a significant reduction in Rosetta credits which I was using as a backup project when Einstein kept going down. Ah well, still enjoy the messing around with these apps..

best Regards,

Upto about 2x assuming he doesn't find any new tricks. He's consulting for the project now and the stock client's about 3x faster than before due to incorperating a number of his improvements.

best Regards,

me too ! energy isn´t cheap enough to run a client without not 100% cpu-optimised and used code.
i still waiting for the "akos-client".

credits ? I have no preference. faster progress is important and not stupid credits.

It won't make any difference in credits on Einstein, since the server is issuing the credits, now, not the client asking for the credits.

Got my first S5 on a

Got my first S5 on a AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ running Linux (FC3) and it's got a completion time of 28 hours and change.

That's nothing when compared to the WU's from CPDN.

But I am getting times of 11 hours on a 400 MHz Pentium II running SuSE Linux!
How can it be?

There are two types of workunits: short and long.

Perhaps this is why.

Is there a way to determine if it's a "short or long"? Maybe something in the name? I'd guess this is a "long", as the same machine did S4 in the expected times.

Also, after about 1:40 of crunching, it's at 18.60% complete, so the time estimate might be way off...
