I recently had to uninstall some unrelated software on my computer, I had to restart, and found that I no longer have a connection to the BOINC Manager. Any thoughts, short of uninstalling the BOINC version I'm currently using and installing another?

Try reinstalling Boinc without uninstalling it first and see if that works...

Wait ... .
BOINC manager opens, correct, but just does not connect?
Try just exiting and then re-opening the manager.
This happens to me often because of the order programs boot up in upon restart and whether my LAN or wireless network has completed making its connection.

Thanks for the help. I exited and reopened, but in my case it took several reboots to get it back. My LAN wireless was acting the same as yours, with BOINC as the last program to connect. Appreciate your advice.

i had this same problem i have so much stuff loading that half the time it takes a few reboots for every thing to load. so i did 2 things, first was, i set an account password for xp so there would be a "pause" in start up, belive it or not that one thing helpd a LOT. seccond. i dont have boinc auto start. i start it my self once every thing else has loaded. namely because i have one program that seems to have a conflict with boinc if boinc is started first. so far i have yet to have a connection problem since doing things this way.
