Hey there,
I want to ask you what that error means:
http://einsteinathome.org/task/71843401
I'm getting a lot of them lateley.
I've been crunching for this project 24/7 dor 3months now and i've never had them. But now it's like every other WU gets this error.
Help me out. Is it my cpu getting bad or its software problem.
BTW my cpu is far from overheating, but its a bit undervolted though.
But like i said the errors started comming 3 days ago. I've never had them before.

Your stderr.txt is empty. I advice you to start the client before starting the manager, as I always do. Maybe the stderr.txt will give a hint of what happens.

Ok to be honest with you i didnt quite get what you mean. But.
I'm running linux, and i've got two executables. ./run_manager -thats what i usually run. its got the grafical user interface and stuff.
and ./run_client - a console thing without the GUI.
Is there any other difference other then the GUI?

I am running Linux too.
Fisrt I start the client in the background, from a console, then the manager from the same console, also in the background. This way the stderr.txt is recorded.

it seems ./run_client is not a console thing... Look at the error messages. Looks like it tries to open a gui but never can.

Slackware 11.0 with 5.4.11
I cant execute the ./run_manager from the samo console because it never frees it. I mean ./run_client runs active in the console. It doesnt run like a daemon.

Nah its not working. For the && it needs the first aplication to exit with success. Like i said it never exits.

Well, it works for me. If I start the manager and this starts also the client the stderr.txt remains empty. I sent a message to the BOINC people on this.
