Computation Times?

I joined Einstein@home recently and both of my tasks took an abnormal amount of time to complete, considering that my wingmen's times were half the amount of mine. I looked at the stderr out and mine has some odd pauses. This is probable because I run multiple projects, but my computation clock should stay the same when the task is not running. The tasks are this one and this one.

Thanks.

Your times are not bad. Your wingmen have quad CPUs, that is 4 cores. I have a dual core Opteron 1210 running Linux and your times are better than mine.

The pauses are not a problem. You do have the misfortune of running Windows, and your quorum partner is running Linux. As it happens, the currently available production Linux ap is rather dramatically more computationally efficient than the current Windows ap (no, this is not because of inherent Linux superiority). The project is beta testing the fruit of a common code base compilation path, which redresses some, but not all, of the imbalance.

Possibly there is additionally something amiss on your system, but there is no way to diagnose that from here.

You could also try using the new Opti SSE2 App that has been released. If you're new to the apps, they can also help you with which one to use and how to install it in that thread.

Thanks guys. I hope they

Thanks guys. I hope they finish testing the code path so that it can go into production WU's.
