Hello I am new my name is KAMasud. I cannot remain connected to the net at all times becuse i use TCP/IP.
The computer wants to connect every now and then to the net, which is ok but the problem is communication deferred legend keeps popping up? So for how long is a person supposed to be connected to the net for this communication deferred gets resolved? It seems to be requiring the net every half hour.
Neither can i afford connecting at the drop of the hat nor will/ can i put up with these antics.
Please solve your communication problem.
Regards
Arif.

Communication deferred
)
It doesn't hurt much to try to learn a thing or two about the program you are running, you know? :-)
BOINC will try to upload results that are finished automatically. Communication Deferred means that the BOINC Daemon has attempted to contact the Project's Scheduling Server and failed. Or although the contact was successful, the BOINC Daemon requested additional work and none was issued. In either case, a new Scheduler Request Message will be sent by the BOINC Daemon after the time period has passed.
The popup keeps showing every 30 minutes if you set the frequency reminder to 30 minutes. You can find the FR slider in Boinc Manager, Advanced menu, Options, General. You can't turn the reminders off, but you can make sure you decide when Boinc is to contact the internet.
Boinc Manager, Activity, Network Activity Suspended. This will make sure Boinc won't try to contact the internet, not even when Einstein is done with a result and is trying to upload it. It will only upload the result, report it and download a new result the next time you have an internet connection and use that Activity menu to give Boinc back its network (or internet) connection.
Or you can give Boinc the rights to call in and disconnect from the internet again when it's done things. This can be done through your preferences, with these two options:
Confirm before connecting to Internet?
(matters only if you have a modem, ISDN or VPN connection)
Disconnect when done?
(matters only if you have a modem, ISDN or VPN connection)
Always save the changes to the website with the Update Preferences button at the bottom. Always Update Boinc afterwards, through Boinc Manager, Projects tab, select Einstein, press Update. Else Boinc doesn't know about your updates.
Please use the Boinc Wiki if you want to look something up quickly. Einstein also has it's own FAQ where you can find the answers to many frequently asked questions.
