Dear Fuzzy,

Thank you for your reply and very wise advice. You are totally right,i should wait for a while to see what will happen with my teams in Seti and Einstein. After all i was so fascinated by Final Front Ear that i wished to join it automatically. For my part i'm not really so intellectual or philosophe which could appear, i like also to have fun and i adore funny and exotic things,
anyway i will remain in my teams for the moment and will wait for my results in EAH and will see later.

I should add that my impression is that Final Front Ear is a very progressist team and congratulations to all the members of your team .

Cheers

You're wellcome, Ariane!

I see you are a member of different teams in your projects, the Einstein@UW-Madison team here at Einstein and the University of Michigan team at Seti. I don't know why you have joined different teams in each project, have you studied at both these universities? I read in one of your posts at Seti, that you plan to take your PhD at Berkeley. So which university are you assigned to at the moment??? Maybe you should join the team for this university and then concentrate on them, and you could even get in contact with the people there!

My impression of you is that you definitely should be in a university team or a team with a humanistic purpose of some kind, such as I pointed out with Gary Roberts' team.

Your saying about being fascinated by The Final Front Ear also tells me that you might have been under the influence of "the flavour of the month" feeling. Let me tell you that when I joined Seti, I crunched a half year, participated on the boards, had conversations with different people and got to know them, before I decided that The Final Front Ear was the right team for me! So joining a team by the impulse of the moment is not advisable. Many people have crunched for months and years before they finally join a team, and then it's because they find the team that suits them the best.

And there you see! You said "I should add that my impression is that Final Front Ear is a very progressist team" made me think "Progressist? Progressist??? WTF is she talking about!?!?! Who's calling us "progressist"'s?!?!?", and I almost felt offended! I had to look it up! You see, using these fine words will only cause you trouble in The Final Front Ear, we don't know what they mean!!! Many people there would be miffed! But thanks for the congrats though!
.oO()

But good luck with you team(s), as I said before, I'm sure they are fine people there and I'm sure Gary Roberts will help you to change, if you want to.

Oh dear Fuzzy , don't be offended by this word i used "progressist" , i hadn't such an intention , that was only a sort of compliment for your team, because i liked it , that's all.

You're right i will remain in my teams, because what is done is done , well when i was about filling the forms for Seti and EAH, i acted just spontaneously , regarding my interest in all sort of universities. That was just a random. I act and i talk very spontaneously without any prejudice , regarding just my taste and my mood of the moment . For example today i contacted NASA and sent a message announcing my candidature for Moon exploration and prob as an astronaute , wishing landing on Moon by some sort of Apollo . Perhaps this sort of decisions and acts would seem silly , but i don't care because it was my very wish of the moment . I think i should become more rational , but i can't help myself , this is my nature .

Anyway thank you for your reply .

Cheers

P.S. I liked also your emoticon , very funny !

It's Ok, Ariane. I said I looked up the word so I was not offended when I saw it's meaning.

And yes, impulsive actions can bring one in trouble some times, and sometimes we have to stick with our decisions.

Ariane, you are such an intriguing character! So you want to become an astronaut? Tell us more, please?! But not in this thread as it's about teams, so start a new thread and tell us!

OK Fuzzy , perhaps i'll start a new thread , but later , i'm afraid that people make fun of me for such a perspective "becoming an astronaut", perhaps a bit dillusionary and megalomaniac , anyway this is my dream .

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've been to the Cafe. Happy to see that it is still a jolly and lively place.

My team is the size of an atom, hoping to grow into a molecule. We're not too shabby. Come join the humble team of The Three Stooges, if it suits you.

Have a round on us.

The Bad Astronomy forum and

The Bad Astronomy forum and the Universe Today forum have recently merged to form the BAUT forum.

And the BABB Einstein@Home team has been renamed the BAUT team.

The combined BAUT forum has over 11,000 members with some of the most informed astronomy discussion anywhere. There are also sections for General Science, the debunking of astro-myths, a lively off-topic area, and much more.

So the BAUT forum offers a one-stop shop for discussion of team matters, BOINC in general, and indeed any scientific topic.

In addition to a large (currently ranked #32) E@H team, BAUT also has BOINC teams for:

  • LHC@home
    seti@home
    climate

prediction.net
Predictor@home
and orbit@home (soon?)
I hope you'll consider joining our team for the projects that interest you!

And even if you don't care to join a team, I'm sure you'll enjoy a visit to the new BAUT forum.

Thanks for listening and happy crunching!

Ken
