ok, i double checked my directx and it is up to date
their is no graphics cards here just a onboard intel g35 chipset
at 1:34am i was not at my system and there was no graphics windows running.
if there was a graphics window running it was only 1 time maybe around the time of the first error and was open for only 30 secs. not enough to make 18 tasks go bad over the time frame showed below.
The problem seems to have coincided with the automatic update of the Windows client to version 6.10, so maybe this is a firewall problem (newly downloaded app was blocked to execute perhaps?). I see that a few recently sent results were returned successfuly, tho. Hopefully all is well now.
BTW your PC is quite fast, I guess it's overclocked? Note that the new app is 20 % faster than the old one and will produce more heat, so it will make sense to continue to monitor this PC closely to see if there are more problems with the new app version because of the increased stress on the CPU.
During the initial install of the 6.10 the firewall kicked up a warning and I allowed the application to do its work. maybe there was something there. Anyway, things are running fine now.
The system is OC'd but I have a heatsink radiator with fan's keeping the system cool along with the side panel being off. cpu is running at 58-60c or 136-140f.
I have recently joined this project (3 days ago) and all of my projects seem to complete just fine, however, my account shows Server State as "over" and the Outcome as "Client error." My PC is as follows...
GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.80GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13] Microsoft Windows Vista
Home Edition, (06.00.6000.00)
Thanks in advance for any ideas/help.

They're all erroring out with "exit code 1073807364 (0x40010004)" which the Unofficial BOINC wiki lists as a possible graphics error. Are you running with the screen saver? If so, disable it and switch to a 2-d Windows screen saver or let your screen go blank and power down. Graphics support for BOINC on Vista is hit and miss at best. You can also try upgrading your graphics drivers and possibly your version of DirectX.
Another thing about Vista is that (for most people) if BOINC is installed to the default location (c:\\program files\\boinc) it doesn't always play nice. Try installing it to somewhere outside of Program Files. I use c:\\boinc and things work fine. To do this, shut down BOINC (and stop the service if you've installed that way), uninstall through add/remove programs. Move the entire BOINC directory. Reinstall and point the installer to the now moved BOINC directory.
The other thing I see in sterrout is
2007-09-03 15:57:25.9857 [debug]: Couldn't open checkpoint (2) - starting from beginning
It's possible something like an AV is locking the file while it's scanning. Try excluding the BOINC directory from the AV scan.
I have the same conditions except that I'm running Ubuntu 8.10. /seti2home is working fine. Completed two major blocks of work while 7 Einstein projects error'd out. I've suspended Einstein for the weekend (heading out of town) and will let SETI run. Check back in next week tosee if things are better.

Hello,
I processed more than 20 works for this project and they all finished with Client Error. Is the validation not yet done or it is another problem?

Thanks for your answer.
You have all errors with:
"Unhandled Exception Detected...
- Unhandled Exception Record -
Reason: Float Stack Check (0xc0000092) at address 0x0041D7D7"
(You can check the errors, by selecting the task ID, scrolling down to the stderr.txt)
Since the wingmen with the same task can crunch them without a problem, this is something on your computer. You may have a hardware or software problem. See at least this page in the Microsoft Knowledge base.

Hello,
Thanks for you reply, but my computer seems to be ok; it a latest model DELL Latitude E6400.
The link you provided concern the Visual Studio 2002 (.NET 1.0) service pack 1. I means that the developer of the application (the one who generate the EXE) have to apply this service pack... I download it and it says i do not have the software to patch (and that's right).
I have Windows XP SP3 and all the last updates. BOINC Manager is the latest version 6.4.7.
Perhaps there's some other fix at Microsoft that is not part of any service pack (especially for .net platforms).
If somebody can help, otherwise i will let my CPU to work for the other projects.
Anyway thank you for your answers.
Regards
Patrick
