I have started to run BOINC on a new build computer and have the "Client detached" message under the 'Outcome' column in my 'Tasks of user' page.
but they appear to have finished correctly.

I am running Vista 64 on a Intel Q6600 computer.

I have run BOINC for many years but this "Client detached" problem is new to me.

"Client detached" problem

Well, as you probably are aware things are a bit unsettled right now here at EAH with the start of the new science run and the major overhaul of the backend servers. Even hosts which had run flawlessly for years have had some strange issues and not all of them were the hosts' fault or pilot error in any way.

That being said, the first thing you need to do if you want get to the bottom of it is to look through the various log files (Both BOINC and Windows) to see if you can find out what happened to precipitate the detach event on 8/14 at 17:37:46 UTC.

Unfortunately, we can only be of limited help since we only get a keyhole view of your setup and environment with what we can see from the publicly available information. However, from looking it over I'd say that something 'bad' happened on the host sometime after 13 Aug 2008 19:02:32 UTC which lead to the detach event.

I have been trying to change

I have been trying to change my password following the directions given , yet after 8 failed attempts the project still doesn't recognize my password change after it is saved. It's very hard to get a reply from the Administration and I been with the project since 2002, VERY ANNOYING!.

If someone can direct to someone who can fix it on Einstein's end I would appreciate it. Thanks.

To help with your problem please PM (send a private message to) Shawn or Oliver.

Then I wonder how you managed to resurrect a totally unrelated thread form 2008(!) to post your question.
When encountering problems that don't seem related to anyone else's please start a new thread in the "Problems and Bug Reports" part of the forum.
