It seems to me that a climate change in this forum mught be useful. So I started running the BBC Climate Change experiment besides SETI and Einstein. Deadline is January 2007. Cheers.

Ciimate change

does the BBC-CC experiment follow the resource shares setup in BOINC? Why does the BBC-CC want us to download and install a client? why not use the typical boinc attach to a project method?

I don't do CP, but I think I read on the BOINC main page (or saw a post on our team board maybe) that you don't need to download that other client and that the new models will be sent to current members.

I'll try to dig up the post.

The BBC project is a

The BBC project is a simplified one. I think it sets itself up practically just for the one project.

I started my BOINC client, then my BOINC manager and attached the new project, The only problem is that BOINC says my computer is overcommitteed and insists on running first the program with the earliest deadline (SETI) instead of alternating the projects. My shares are 300 (Einstein), 100 (SETI and BBC). So I have to suspend SETI in order to run Einstein and suspend both to ron BBC.

If you leave BOINC alone, after a while (a few days, a week) it'll work through the overcommitted issue and balance out your shares again. If you tweak and micromanage it, it'll never settle out.

I suspended BBC after five days of running alone. Now it is running in parallel with SETI although my BOINC manager says it is suspended!
