I had to use a new e-mail adress to ask to change my old e-mail adress into my new.( because my old email adress is not in use anymore), but I would like to keep my hours I already have participated. What do I do? My old email:

All you should have had to do was log into your old account and change your e-mail address. Since you have created a new account with your new e-mail address, you won't be able to do that. You are not allowed to merge accounts.
Sorry :(

If you new account doesn't have any credits associated with it (and you haven't spent too much time crunchin' under it - you'll have to define "too much time") log into that account. Change your email to a throw away account (hotmail, yahoo, etc have free accounts) and then change your original account to your current correct email address.

If you truly want to abandon the account, I don’t think its e-mail address need be valid at all: “nobody@nowhere.nul or similar should work just as well. I don’t know that the system checks the syntax—if not, a string of random characters would suffice—but ‘dummy’ addresses like that work fine in newsreaders &c.

A guaranteed non-existent address is where XXX is any string. (Google for example.com to see why!)

I joined a new project and mis-spelled my email address. When I tried to change it to the correct address, I got the message: "there is already an account with that name"
Changing the email addess for ALL projects I crunch (to a hotmail address) seemed to solve the problem, and BOINC Stats combined all three projects inside 24 hours.
However, since then (25th Nov) I have had no work from Einstein.
Thinking it may be necessary to change my email back to the correct one, I tried that. I got the same old message back.
The email I have given is a valid one. It needs to be, as the project sends a confirmation email to the address you give. You have to click on a link to confirm you have received the email, so that the project can record the change of email address.
Back to the "problem" with no work downloading. It has now been a week. Surely I'm not paying off a debt to the other two projects I run?

OK!
After a browse round the rest of the board, I tried the idea of detaching and re-attaching to the project.
It worked! :)
