Oh Great Wise Ones

Is it possible to pause/suspend/crash so many times during the running of a task, that it gets garbaged?

I'd be trying to avoid it, not achieve it.

I'd like to see if I can get the one I have at the moment to run a little faster than the 4 days 8 hours 32 min and 34 sec's one of my wingpeople managed, but can't promise. I am having some heating issues you see, followed by some super efficient downclocking events.

My set up is as follows:

I have a tablefan. That is aimed at one of those icepack things. The air that results from that combination, swirls around above, and beneath the laptop and works quite well at stopping it from slowing itself down to pet rock speed... except when I forget to change the icepack.

I have now also set my "use at most blah percentage of cpu time" to 50, and so far, everything seems stable *lose hairnet in gale* but I am wary of getting too confident of it lasting.

I'm hoping I won't need to concern myself with what the answer is to my question, but in case I do, and you know, I'd be grateful if someone could tell me.

Thank you! :)

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Can I trash a task?

Well, if it gets too hot during the day, you could try just running it at night. You still have 2 weeks to complete it. The stopping and starting should not affect it. Looking at your wingman results, looks like they stopped and restarted several times. Good luck ;)

The answer is yes. Also, this

The answer is yes. Also, this is the task that will have a mega-pulsar in it, and you will get to see the other guy who gets the task on TV surrounded by these fabulous prizes which he has won for discovering it.

*SNORT at mega-pulsar*

*SNORT at mega-pulsar* Yeees... Good point, nicely put. Thank you, Gamboleer :) I suppose I'd better start preparing to give up TV then.

We don't do hot here, Zalster. There was a day once, but... However your good luck wishes seem to be working, so thank you! :)

Perhaps I'm just confusing something I read at seti once about too many exits. I'll go and look anyway.
