Hi All,
I have a slight promblem. Any advice gratefully received.
One of my boxes seems to have run out of new work. The other one has loads. It may find it a tad difficult to complete on the deadline set.
Is there any way of transfering selected jobs from one pc the other? They can then both crunch and make the deadlines set.
Regards to all crunchers

Can I transfer tasks between pc's?
)
Hi!
This is not possible. If you cancel some of the tasks they will be reassigned to some other hosts, but not specifically to your hosts. Still better than letting them time out in two weaks after receiving the tasks.

I thank you for your advice.
My second pc has now received new tasks to crunch.
I will abort any tasks on the other pc that looks like failing any deadline.

Hi ashj, I asked this

Hi ashj,
I asked this question some months ago. I got the answer, that something like a 'Super Manager' was once in the brains of the developers but has never been realized.
But watching upcoming developements (like the Kickstarter project Mike Hewson reports from time to time, look here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/adapteva/parallella-a-supercomputer-for-everyone/posts/503148?ref=email&show_token=999f95aaf379e1db ) something different to the usual BM might be necessary. Something that manages a farm of 256 cores over several pc(-boards) and not only 8 cores within one pc.
If you have plans to launch a 'Super Manager supporters group' pls let me know, most likely I will be a supporter!
Cheers
Alex
