I noticed this quite often (but not always): when I suspend an Einstein@home task, it fails immediately. The messages windows says:
Reason: unrecoverable error for result ... (process got signal 11)
My config:
OS: 64 Bit Linux Ubuntu 7.04
64 Bit BOINC 5.10.21

Read this message and this thread. You might also want to consider trying the Linux Beta App.

Thank you very much for reporting this. Please try the current Beta App and disable graphics completely by touching a file EAH_NO_GRAPHICS in the BOINC directory. Does the problem persist?

Well, perhaps no screensaver but it has graphics on Linux. However, the error results also show this:
or this:
... but these are just "warnings". However, it should be possible to catch such unimportant exceptions (screensaver, graphics, etc.) and continue crunching instead of abortung with error.

You are absolutely right, and in fact, the "unrecoverable error" is no intended reaction of the software. It might be related to the warning message you mentioned, tho.

I installed the beta app and

I installed the beta app and in the BOINC messages tab, it also says "found app_info.xml; anonymous platform" for Einstein@home, but for several days now, I don't get any new Einstein@home tasks (I also have no Einstein@home task running). So, my BOINC only computes for the other projects I have.
I guess, I rename app_info.xml to get into the normal version cycle ...

BOINC may just be skipping Einstein temporarily to balance its debt. If you want to force BOINC to an download an Einstein unit, you can suspend your other projects (temporarily). If that doesn't work, there should be a message to explain why. Also, FYI, the Linux Beta Application was updated today, so you may want to download and install the latest version first.
