Does anyone here run the BOINCView manager? I have downloaded it, but have comprehesively failed to get it to do anything. I understand one should set up a "Location" which I have tried to do. When I do, I get a messagebox pop up and say "seems not to be a BOINC folder, use it anyway?". If I say Yes, it creates a location, but it does nothing. I have not found an option to set up the BOINC folder.

Hi, when setting up a location you can choose between the clients GUI-interface or accessing the client through pointing Boincview to the folder where BOINC is installed, e.g. "C:\Program Files\BOINC" for a client on the local machine. If you decide to access through the second option not all features of Boincview will work. For clients 4.1x you've to use Boincview 0.9d. The newer version 1.0 (rc6) is intented for the development versions 4.2x/4.6x.
When setting up a location use the folder option specify the folder the BOINC is installed, not to the different projects in the projects-subdirectory.

I hope this helps.

Where is the option to tell

Where is the option to tell BOINCView where the BOINC folder is?

*** EDIT ***

Never mind! I found it! I usually associate greyed out controls as "unavailable".

Now I see lots of messages in the normal BOINC manager saying...

--- - 2005-02-25 18:37:04 - GUI RPC request from non-allowed address 192.168.0.100

... seems to be getting 5 such messages happening every minute.

You need to update the remote_hosts.cfg file. Your computer must be using an new IP address and it is not in the file. You can put EITHER the IP address OR the name of the computer in there, I have BOTH just in case.
In your case add 192.168.0.100 as a line in the file, you can edit it with Notepad. Just make sure when yo uare done that you go back and rename it so that it says remote_hosts.cfg EXACTLY!!! Notepad usually tacks on .txt on the end of any file it saves.
