BOINC is currently suspended?

This is likely a dumb question, quite possibly, PEBKAC. I am getting the message "BOINC is currently suspended" as my screensaver, yet the BOINC Manager seems to indicate that there is nothing suspended. The messages state: "7/19/2005 7:58:41 AM||General prefs: no separate prefs for work; using your defaults
7/19/2005 7:58:41 AM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address".
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Look in the work tab and projects tab. Also look at the file menu. These are places where a WU, a Project, or BOINC can be suspended.

It lookes like it has spontaneously started running again; the Work tab shows 4 'Activities Suspended' currently, and each has made progress. The Projects tab shows only Einstein@Home project, which is the only project I am trying to run right now.
Thanks for the input. We'll see how it goes.

Check your message log at

Check your message log at that time to see if by chance BOINC was running benchmarks.

Thanks - I'll do that if it happens again. I don't see that message right now though... Thanks for the feedback.

Well, I'm getting the same thing as I described in my 1st post. There are no benchmarks running according to the message log. Hmm...

To me this sounds like you are running it on a laptop and have your preferences set to not run when on batteries...

I had the same problem. I was unable to fetch workunits from both Seti@home and Einstein@home. I was not running benchmarks or anything, or had changed my preference.

Good guess, but no. It's a PC, not a laptop. I was sure that I set some preferences when I first got BOINC installed, but my messages are saying that there are no prefs set; using defaults. Even if my prefs were reset, would that cause BOINC to be suspended? That seems an unlikely default action to me...

Try right-clicking on the

Try right-clicking on the boinc taskbar icon and choosing "Run Always". If the screensaver shows graphics then it's something in your preferences.
