Boinc for 64-bit windows

It means that this project currently does not support windows 64 bit edition. There are ways around this, such as using special config files to download the einstein@home program and start crunching workunits.
Have a look at these:

Well, I used to run 32-bit

Well, I used to run 32-bit Boinc on this computer, and it downloaded the 32-bit Einstein application as well as some workunits. Due to Seti at home compatibility issue with their 64-bit optimized application, I had to upgrade to 64-Boinc. The new version of Boinc seems to continue the Einstein workunits so far...

I cannot claim that I know

I cannot claim that I know the inner-workings of the boinc client (someone please correct me if I am wrong), but if the task is already in process or there are workunits before, I would have to assume that the boinc client will still try to process them as they have been assigned. Now that its under a different platform the boinc client will try to get that platform's client and work for it. Which is why you are running into this error.

For the time being, may a someone correct this if problematic, go to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/app_test.php and download the beta application. The beta app comes with a config file that will get around this issue; however, it will most likely prevent you from getting any new versions of the einstein application so you will need to watch the message boards and upgrade/remove the application (the easy way to remove the beta app would be to wait for all the work to finish and report, then to reset the project).

I don't think reset will work unless you delete the app_info.xml file as well.

If only the project would

If only the project would upgrade to the latest server software, this issue wouldn't happen. With the current 64-bit client, if it cannot get a 64-bit application, it'll fall back to requesting the 32-bit application. But only if the server side cooperates.
