Topic 190404

when I reboot once a week (XP problems or for updates) I get a Bionic Manager button at the bottom of the screen and when I open it by right clicking on the button I must ask for "restore" as left clicking on the button does not work. Then I find the manager is not connected and all the screens are blank. If I look in Task Mang. I see Einstein at Home is running. To remove the Manager screen that does not work I must close it out at the B icon as the close function on the Manager button or the red X do not work. To get the working Manager I go to start and click on the Bionic button which puts the B button back in my tray and I get a working Bionic Manager. Any ideas?

john,

I don't see a problem. Your computer continues to turn in completed Einstein work, so there's not problem at the Einstein end of things.

Perhaps it should be taken up with the Bionic message boards, if you can find them. I haven't a clue where you'd even start to look, we've got all we can handle, just dealing with BOINC here.

BOINC Message Boards

You will need to create an account the same way you did for E@H.

Okay, but that is not what was asked - how many times do you see BOINC listed?

Perhaps you should try to find the "bionic" message boards. I can only refer you to the BOINC message boards, at this address. Of course, they won't be able to help you with your problems with this "bionic" program, whatever it is.

All fun aside, it's Boinc

All fun aside, it's Boinc Manager that hangs.

Uninstall Boinc as it is, then reinstall it as a service, without starting Boinc Manager at Windows launch. Then you can start and quit BM whenever you want, while not interrupting anything else. You do need administrator rights to install Boinc as a service, plus you need to have a password set on this administrator account. Null passwords do not work.
