I am running climentpredict, SETI and Einstein. Unless I suspend a porject, BIONC does not swich between them.

I have checked the settings for each account (is use for all of them starhawk) and they look fine. Any ideas?

Edit: Opps. I am running 4.45

BIONC 4.45 is not switching between projects

More info:

Under the prefs for all accounts it says: "Switch between applications every 60 minutes"

Einstein went a full 20 hours (compleeting all 4 work units it had) before switching to climateprediction.net. In addition, Einstein did not request new work. I tried to use update to fetch more work, but it did this:

6/24/2005 9:03:14 AM|Einstein@Home|Sending scheduler request to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/cgi
6/24/2005 9:03:14 AM|Einstein@Home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 0 results
6/24/2005 9:03:15 AM|Einstein@Home|Scheduler request to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/cgi succeeded
6/24/2005 9:16:23 AM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op

When I disabled both SETI & climateprediction, Einstein feched work automaticaly. Also, I tried disabling Einstein and 3-1/2 hours later climateprediction was the only thing that had been running.

As far as I can tell, if I want a project to run, I have to disable the other two.

The new schedulers try to get the workload right over a much longer timescale - try leaving it for a week and see how (whether) it balances itself out

My guess (and it is only a guess, more experienced BOINCers may correct me) is the scheduler saw that Einstein had by far the shortest deadline, so prioritised those WU, and after completing them was running just the other projects for a while to let them catch up.

The setting to switch projects every nn minutes nowadays really means 'consider every nn minutes whether it is time to switch projects' - whereas under (say) 4.19 you'd see it switching most hours, if not every hour, now it can go for longer before switching.

You are defeating the purpose

You are defeating the purpose of Boinc, just let it do its thing and set your connect to under 2....
