Hi all,
do you know, if there is an overview of application runtimes and deadlines of all BOINC projects available?
I need an application with short runtime (2 weeks). This table is outdated :(
Kind regards,
Michael

application runtimes and deadlines
)
The only one that comes to my mind right away is MilkyWay and Prime Grid (the short sub-projects)
Other candidates include ibercivis, leiden classical, Poem, ... RCN at times ...
The problem is that almost all projects now seem to be issuing work with varying times. RCN has lots of short tasks, but it also has some that run for long, long times ...
TImes of course are also variable depending on OS and machine ...
Except MilkyWay is a very
)
Except MilkyWay is a very tight deadline project, and also has strict work in progress limits.
The problem is most of the short work projects don't have the requested two week or longer deadline.

Rosetta has a user selectable
)
Rosetta has a user selectable "Target CPU run time" that can be set by website account preference selection. Anywhere from one hour to one day in two hour increments (default is 3 hours). It's been a while since I've crunched there, so din't recall the runtimes for wus... I just allowed some work and it is 10 days (though that may be variable, I've googled up also 7 and 28 day runtimes, which may or may not still be the case).
sha-1 collision search graz

sha-1 collision search graz ,
work units run for about half an hour on a 2Ghz athlon,
project fixed credit of 10 per wu,
though the deadline is ten days,
I see it is difficult to match both parameters.
Thanks for some

Thanks for some examples.
I used to run malaricontrol, short runtimes ~1h, but short deadlines < week, but no work ATM, and enigma, long deadlines ~2 weeks, but now up to several hours runtime :(

Perhaps we are going about this the wrong way ... why are you setting those parameters?
I mean, with SaH and GPU computing you may be able to get close, or with some of the other projects suggested. But, at the moment we are in a somewhat dry spell where a significant number of projects seem to have gone off the air for one reason or another ...
This limits the current number of active projects that have reliable work issuing out and many, if not most, seem to have been opting or are forced to issue tasks that are taking longer to process even though the speed of the computers working are increasing on a daily basis.
So, why do you need long deadlines and short tasks?
If we know all the reasons you have for those parameters, maybe we can help better ... oh, and what OS as fewer projects are Mac "Friendly" ...
