I split my processing time between Einstein and two other BOINC projects and notice the Einstein work units are ENORMOUS. Most of my machines (older servers) tend to run nearly 100 hours to complete one, which tends to makes them miss the reporting deadline.
Does anyone know if the Einstein team has considered (if it's even possible) to shrink the task size?

Any chance we'll get smaller work units?

The task sizes will probably remain the same, but the speed will increase. S5R2 is a middle run where they are testing some new codes. Then they will start to optimize these codes so they go faster. Once testing is done, it will most likely go to S5R3.
This will take some time, but it sounds like some of the first optimizations may be released pretty soon.
