I have 12.10 installed. It works. I am just getting a bit more into BOINC and E@H, I don't have the prior experience to know how well 12.10 compares to 12.6.
Examples of what I am seeing:
I have a Phenom II 940 X4 @ 3.46GHz; a Radeon HD 6870. Have set the GPU to run two BRP WUs. Each WU completes in about 75 minutes. Three of the CPU cores run WUs, the fourth CPU core pushes the GPU.
If this seems excessivly low compared to the 12.6 drivers, I may downgrade. !
The reason why I asked is that the change from 10.6 to 10.8 brought a decrease of speed.
I installed it now on one system; looks like it's slightly faster, at least not slower.
How much of a percentage slower? What are your system specs?
HD6950 i7 win64 pcie2 x 16 slot crunching 2 wu's 3 cores left free, normal dayly work system
