I usually work with the user privileges.
I tried to install BOINC but it the installer required administrative privileges. Ok, I started the installer as an administrator, but it installed BOINC for administrator.
I uninstalled it, assigned adnimistrative privileges to my work account and installed it again. This time the installation was successful, but as soon as I discarded the administrative privileges, the BOINC manager began to report and error and didn't allow to do anything with it.
For security reasons I don't want to permanently assign the administrative privileges to my work account. Is there a way to work with BOINC without them?

The user that is running BOINC needs full access to the boinc directory. The default if to place BOINC in the program files directory where normal users do not have create, write, and delete priveledges. There are two solutions: Give the users the explicit right to full access to this directory tree, or install in a directory where they do have full priveledges.
