If I can remember correctly the 4800 runs at the same speed as the 4600 but has twice as much L1 cache so I recommend spending the little extra for the 4800.

Just noticed I made a typo. That should read more L2 cache.
Another thing if you don't want to pay extra for the 4800 drop down to the 4400 because it also has the larger cache.

Athlon 64 X2 4800+ isn't on AMD's catalog anymore... so it is VERY hard to find it in Europe. On the contrary, the 4600 X2 is easy to find.
No online shop in USA sells oversea... so...
And it doesn't matter if those chips are made in Dresden Germany !
