unless you're going to run something that uses the extra VRAM, i wouldnt bother.

All fine and good for gaming stats comparison.  Not much help for what the 4070 might do here crunching GR#1 or BPR7.

Plus look at the current posts and status of those that are already running 4080 or 4090 cards and the high amount of invalids and the barely perceptible decrease in crunching times compared to a 3080 Ti.

That's why I wish those testing places would pick just one Boinc Project and test the gpu's, and cpu's too for that matter, against each other with it. They could pick several but they go thru ALOT of games that mean nothing to most people, other that seeing 'your' game(s) tested and doing it for Boincers could enhance their 'clicks' they sooo crave.

Anandtech used to test gpus

Anandtech used to test gpus on Folding@home.  But ever since their original reviewer retired/moved on elsewhere or whatever, they have dropped that test from their current reviewing test suite.

We would love to test GPUs

We would love to test GPUs and CPUs on BOINC projects. Maybe something we could start doing next school year. Then again, it really comes down to if companies are willing to have a "random high school" test their hardware.

It might work if you could become a partner to a testing place like Tom's Hardware etc ie you guys become an 'official' off-site testing place and then write a report that they can then use. And Folding @home works for me, the idea is gpu testing for what WE do while crunching not gaming.

Processing slows down unless

Processing slows down unless I re-boot daily?

Hi, I have a rtx 3080 ti FE that seems to slowdown its processing after being up for several days.

It goes from 2.5+ minutes down to 3.5-4 minutes per task.  It is running 2x on the GPU with petri's optimized app.

This has happened across both the current 525 and 470 Ubuntu/Nvidia drivers.  And includes MTM OC of +1700.

This GPU routinely used to do a little over 3M on the e@h grp#1 diet it normally gets.

It is clearly stalling at 2.5M.

I have rebooted and am now running an MTM OC of +900

What else should I be testing/looking at?

Thank you.

Does it return to the normal speed right after the re-start? I have an AMD GPU that does this and I realized that whenever one of my students utilizes Autocad on that workstation, it causes this GPU to slow down even after Autocad has been closed. Do you utilize the PC for anything else or is it strictly utilized for BIONC?
