1: *sigh* does ANY of you read further than one message back?
2: Problem started on Saturday evening.
to 1: ... they don't know what that funny looking "wheel" on the mouse is for ...
to 2: ... I believe it started Saturday morning shortly before 01:00 AM ... if I can read the properties correctly ... not that it matters ... weekend is weekend.
AND they just read ONE post and don't read others, because they (the posts) might be boring (well, sometimes they are) ...
You all have a fine time waiting, which is supposed to be a sublime virtue!
That there is no sort function on this forum and this thread is 9 pages long with previous comments and new comments and replies and so forth, when your looking for a quick answer at night, you might miss something. And there are others that miss things completely. I saw someone reference Bernd's post at page 9 and then have to come back two pages and scroll until I found his post. My reply to his post goes to page 9 now, so it gets a bit convoluted in here trying to figure out who said what without spending a lot of time looking around trying to piece it all together.
I like to read the forums here with the most recently posted comments showing at the top of the first page.
If you'd like that as well, go to Account|Preferences|Community|Forum settings
and scroll the selection to "newest post first"
And while Greg_BE is there, he should select how many posts per page he would like. I was bemused by his page 9 complaint since everything was on just one page for me :-). I guess that means the default must be 10 items per page (or perhaps he set it at 10). I use 100. In the dim dark past, I think it used to default to 20.
My own personal preference is to have the oldest first. That way, when I first look at overnight messages, an active thread opens at the oldest unread post and I can follow the full flow from there, top to bottom, which is my normal reading style. Because of my time zone, most messages appear overnight so sometimes there is quite a bit of 'catching up' when I first start reading.
This is the result of a problem independent of the upload issues. The "validator" for the new "O2MDFS3" workunits still doesn't work correctly. We're working to fix that.
It IS Einstein making the decision to delete unneeded files. It instructs the client to delete the files associated with the current work you are processing.
This is quite a bit different than past work sent by Einstein. But normal with the new work units.
Apparently mostly on Sundays we get a pretty high load on our main upload server (einstein4) causing various subsequent problems. We are working on a long term solution, but for now we are limiting the the uploads depending on the current load. Please bear with us.
THanks, I knew something was wrong but thought it was at my end.

And this will end up on page 9 as well.

Willt this problem go away? I never had this much errors on Einstein@home before.

Why is BOINC deleting files? The message is ...."file no longer needed"
Shouldn't this be up to Einstein to make this decision.
