FINALLY! I have reached 8 million here at E@H. Seemed like it was taking forever.

2M! My laptop is still crunching along :) Crunching BRPs (4 and 5) is quite comfortable, since the CPU is free for other work (not boinc related) and productivity is still high.

I have a similar laptop Max, and mainly was testing it here the day I got it to see what that GeForce 610M with 8 cores would do with 8GB ram

So far I have had it running 24/7 for 27 months and the only problem was the battery went dead and I won't won't waste the money on a new one so I just leave it plugged in.

So far Total credit 6,003,123 running BRP PAS X2 and I run 7 cores doing other tasks at the same time ......didn't expect a laptop to do this and the longer it runs the more surprised I will be.

Hopefully your will keep on running too.

That is what gets us old members here hooked on GPU cards since I was at just 8 million not that long ago.

When I first started doing that I found a couple cards and power supplies on sale and if computers fell out of the sky with the fancy new GPU I probably would heat my house with them in the winter

RE: By "corded" do you

By "corded" do you mean tied together by that little wire? If so and you do NOT game then the little wire is not helpful in Boinc and you can leave it off with no change in performance. Of course if you ARE a gamer too then leave it on as it IS better for them.

Yeah I wondered about that but I never played video games other than a couple minutes with Pong and trying to trick my Sons Mario game into giving me lots of points without actually getting very far way back in the 1980's
